Two Great Reasons to Stay Focused

Why New Network Marketers Get Discouraged
I recently met with a fairly new associate in my downline. This gentleman signed up and brought desire and motivation to the table. After sponsoring a couple of prospects, and having success introducing others to our products, he seemed to become discouraged and lost much of his enthusiasm.
This happens with people in all network marketing and home based business opportunities. It is just human nature. Given that this gentleman had been in business only three months and was making progress, why would he be discouraged? It can happen to anyone. Here is what I learned.
This fellow committed a good bit of money to advertising his new MLM business. He purchased advertising online to promote both product sales and sponsoring. He seemed to be doing the right things.
However, he had specific expectations of where his business should be after three months. He became discouraged when his sales and sponsoring numbers were not as much as he hoped.
If you are new to network marketing, your expectations for success can be higher than what you actually achieve in those first few weeks. The key to achieving the success you desire is staying focused and consistent in your business building efforts.
Good Reasons to Stay Focused
Here are two things to consider. These thoughts apply to any home based business.
1) Building a successful home business usually requires delayed gratification. What you do today (making contacts, sending out information, working with prospects) will not necessarily show results right away. It takes time. You have to build a base of good prospects and maintain regular follow-ups with them.
I have had many good associates join my group two years, even three years after our initial contact. The timing must be right for your prospects to sign up – this is why ongoing follow-up is SO important.
2) A big surge in your business may lie just ahead. Oddly, these leaps can come during otherwise slow times – times when things don’t seem to be going well. Not long ago, I had a much slower month (sales AND sponsoring) than I expected. I wondered what was going on. Then, the next month was very busy and I doubled my normal sponsoring and sales numbers.
Remember, you are in business for the long haul, and the averages will work in your favor if you stay consistent and do the right things.
The bottom line – find a good network marketing opportunity, seek help from your successful upline, stay focused, and keep moving. It will all pay off.

Encourage and Support Your Downline Associates – Three Quick Tips

Because network marketers are so motivated to recruit and sponsor, it is easy to slip and forget to give attention to your most valuable assets – the people who are already on your team. It is important to contact them from time to time and offer encouragement. Recognition. Nobody likes to sign up and be left all alone.
Independent and Motivated
Some of your downline members may seem very self-motivated and, frankly, not much in need of your attention. The fact is, though, even the most motivated and independent business builder on your team needs to know you appreciate them. They need to know that you recognize their achievement and are standing behind them completely. Everyone appreciates recognition.
Encouraging Your Group
Here are three simple, easy ways to support and encourage your group.
1) Pick up the phone and call them. In our fast-paced world, more and more network marketers are trying to go electronic. By “go electronic”, I mean using email as virtually the only means of communication. Or, using autoresponder sequences as your primary training tool.
I believe it means more in this day and time to receive a personal phone call than ever before. So many won’t bother to do this. You can make a difference in your group if you take time for personal communication. A phone call just to say “hello” and offer your time to help with their business is priceless.
2) Consider publishing a regular newsletter that goes to everyone in your group. In your newsletter, talk about what’s new and offer business building tips. Most important – establish some sort of recognition for the achievers in your downline.
You can have a “Top 10 in Personal Sponsoring” for the month, and other achievement categories as well. You can welcome each new member of your downline by name. Granted, this is a lot of work, but can be an excellent way to keep in touch – particularly when you have a larger group.
3) Watch for activity that shows an associate (especially someone who is new) is doing the right things. When you see that one of your downline people has just sponsored someone, pick up the phone and congratulate them. Offer your support. This tells them you are noticing them – and it goes a long way toward encouraging them to keep on rolling.
This is the key. Don’t forget to encourage and recognize your downline associates for their achievements. Even the little things. It will make a big difference in your business.

How To Have More Freedom As A Network Marketer

When you work as a network marketer, you are working solely from the Internet. You do not have to talk to anyone face-to-face. If you need to speak to anyone, it is via the Internet. You will have more freedom when you work as a network marketer. You can work when you want to. You do not have to worry about a boss calling you to let you know that you need to come into work. If you do not feel like working one day, you do not have to. You can go out of the house when you want to. When you have a regular job, you cannot be seen outside if you are off from work. If someone sees you, you have to make up an excuse as to why you did not come to work.
If someone asks you why you are outside and not working, you do not have to explain yourself, unless you prefer to. You can work in the morning, afternoon, or evening. If you are able to meet your daily goal before lunchtime, the rest of the day you can do what you want. The days that you do work, you do not have to work solely from home. You can work anywhere that has an Internet connection. Take your laptop computer to a café that offers Wi-Fi and mingle with your friends while promoting your page. It is good to interact with others when you work online since you are in front of the computer all day.
As a network marketer, it may not seem like a job since you are doing what you love to do. If you are promoting products that you use yourself, the day will go by fast. The only thing that you will notice is that you are earning money to do what you love to do. You will notice that you are saving a lot of money by working online. You won’t have to purchase gas that often since you won’t have to drive to work. The money that you were using for gas can be used for food.

Understanding Network Marketing Compensation Plans

The success of the network marketing business largely depends on so many factors such as company structure, leads, and compensation plans. It is very important for the distributors to analyze the compensation plans before entering the business. Here is an overview of the compensation plans involved in the network marketing companies. There are four main types of plans: the unilevel plan, the breakaway plan, the forced matrix plan, and the binary plan.
All the above said plans have three fundamental elements such as commission type, rules, and structure. The commission type is the one where the marketers are paid based on it. The rules defines the criteria and goals for the distributors to achieve in a month and this also defines the benefits and rewards for achieving the target. Structure defines where the distributor is placed in the organization.
In the unilevel compensation plan, the qualified distributors are paid with the level commissions. This means that all distributors are paid with the same amount of compensation for the sales made. In this plan, there are no ranks for the distributor and everyone occupies the same position. This is the simplest plan and the purpose of this plan is to make a large front-line distributors. This plan is considered as the stable plan for running the business.
The breakaway compensation is the next version of the unilevel plan or a hybrid of the unilevel. This is   the oldest plan where the distributors after reaching certain ranks with the increased performance break away from the original upline member. This plan is more of group based and this is most recognized by the regulatory bodies.
In the forced matrix compensation plan, the distributors are restricted to recruit only certain number of people at their level until their grid is filled completely. Once all the matrix in this plan is filled, a new matrix is formed. Binary plan is new to the network marketing business. The level is restricted with only two members and if the vacant is filled, the new members are placed in the deeper level. This plan does not have any depth limit.

Where To Get Support As A Network Marketer

When you are in the business of network marketing, you will be on a team. The team will consists of team members and a leader. Your leader is the person you can go to for help if you are having problems making the kind of money that you are looking to make. The leader will give you the tips that you will need to be as successful as they are. Once you are able to make the kind of money your leader is making, you may be able to help out one of your team members who is having the same problem that you were having.
Register online at home business forums. Find the folder for network marketing. Start talking with other network marketers. They will be able to give you tips on how to be more successful. By talking with other network marketers you won’t feel alone. They will understand what you are going through. You may want to visit the forum frequently. You don’t have to discuss the business with other network marketers. It can be a place where everyone goes to relax or just talk about their day.
Attend local conferences on network marketing. You may receive a postcard in the mail letting you know when they will have a conference in your area. You can check in the newspaper to see if there will be any conferences in network marketing in your area. Check online by entering in “network marketing conferences” and the city and state that you live. At the conference you will be able to ask the speaker specific questions that you may have. Talk with other network marketers. You can share stories and tips with each other.
Take a class on network marketing. You will meet other people who want to get started in the business or are taking a refresher course. You will be able to compare notes with each other. After class, you can ask each other questions. There may be a student who needs help on getting sales. Another network marketer may be able to give him or her tips on how to get more sales.

Can You Really Motivate Your MLM Downline?

motivation and inspiration for your mlm businessStarting your new MLM business is really exciting. Even if you’re a veteran in the MLM industry, I’m sure you remember how it was.
You go through your group’s MLM training program. You get fired up and sponsor a few people. Then, at some point, you do a reality check. You ask the burning question. Is anyone I sponsored doing anything yet?
Unfortunately, sometime in the early stages of your business, the answer is no. This can really be discouraging, especially when you’re first starting out.
What is motivation? Dictionary.com defines it like this:
the psychological feature that arouses an organism to action toward a desired goal; the reason for the action; that which gives purpose and direction to behavior; “we did not understand his motivation”; “he acted with the best of motives”
True motivation actually comes from within a person. You can try to “motivate” someone, but perhaps it is better thought of as “encouraging” them. When we encourage our downline, it helps their own internal motivation to come alive and get stronger.
Starting and building an MLM business is a voluntary activity (nobody HAS to get up in the morning and do it, unlike they do with a job). Thus, a person’s motivation must be intensely personal. Inspiration to action must come from deep within. There must be a “why” in place that really means something.
So, what can you do to help raise a downline associate’s level of self-motivation to work their business? Assuming they have a desire, but have just been unable to get moving, here is how you can help.
Help them recall why they signed up in the first place. Maybe they had a vague idea – they wanted to “make some extra money”. Once the initial excitement of doing something new has faded, maybe they can’t get fired up enough to move forward with a goal that hazy. Help them discover how much money they’d really like to earn, and what they would do with it that really means something. Help them come up with specific goals for their MLM business that they feel excited about.
What is important to your downline associate? Is it money to pay off some bills, get a new car, or maybe build a dream home someday? Is it a desire to quit a job? Give money to help their church or favorite charity? People often start MLM businesses and other money-making ventures with really good intentions. Help them drill down and find out what is really important, and how building their MLM business can help.
The idea is to help your valuable downline member get past the inertia and light a fire inside that will motivate them to action. Think about your own business, and what your own internal motivations are. Let your downline friend and associate know you care, and are sincerely interested in their success.
