It is very important to work with the reliable and reputable network marketing company to be own boss, to work on the own schedule, and to work on own pace. Therefore a company should be carefully chosen.
The network marketing companies can be researched online. There are many associations available for this business that has a list of reliable companies in this field. Also, these associations provide more information about the company and help the aspiring marketers while they are evaluating about the company. Some of the qualities of the company should be well analyzed such as the number of years of the company in business, average compensation for the distributors, support or training for the distributors, high quality products, and positive encouragement.
Next important thing is to talk with the people in the network marketing business, especially with these who are in the chosen network marketing company. Understanding Network Marketing Compensation Plans

The success of the network marketing business largely depends on so many factors such as company structure, leads, and compensation plans. It is very important for the distributors to analyze the compensation plans before entering the business. Here is an overview of the compensation plans involved in the network marketing companies. There are four main types of plans: the unilevel plan, the breakaway plan, the forced matrix plan, and the binary plan.
All the above said plans have three fundamental elements such as commission type, rules, and structure. The commission type is the one where the marketers are paid based on it. The rules defines the criteria and goals for the distributors to achieve in a month and this also defines the benefits and rewards for achieving the target. Structure defines where the distributor is placed in the organization.
In the unilevel compensation plan, the qualified distributors are paid with the level commissions. This means that all distributors are paid with the same amount of compensation for the sales made. In this plan, there are no ranks for the distributor and everyone occupies the same position. This is the simplest plan and the purpose of this plan is to make a large front-line distributors. This plan is considered as the stable plan for running the business.
The breakaway compensation is the next version of the unilevel plan or a hybrid of the unilevel. This is   the oldest plan where the distributors after reaching certain ranks with the increased performance break away from the original upline member. This plan is more of group based and this is most recognized by the regulatory bodies.
In the forced matrix compensation plan, the distributors are restricted to recruit only certain number of people at their level until their grid is filled completely. Once all the matrix in this plan is filled, a new matrix is formed. Binary plan is new to the network marketing business. The level is restricted with only two members and if the vacant is filled, the new members are placed in the deeper level. This plan does not have any depth limit.

The Importance Of Choosing The Right Network Marketing Company

When a person decides to go into network marketing, they have to choose the right company. If the person doesn’t choose the right company, they will be wasting a lot of time trying to make a sale. They will end up losing a lot of money in the process. When a person joins a network marketing company, a good company will be placed you on a team. The team will consist of team members and a leader. The leader will help the network marketers to make the same kind of money that they are. The leader may know about other places that you can promote your Web page that you may have not heard of. A good leader will not steer in the wrong direction. He or she should even help you to get your first sell.
When you are looking into finding the right network marketing company, the company should have been in business over five years. They should have a working Web page and contact information. The company needs to provide all of the tools that you’ll need to get started such as a Web page and banners to place on your page. The company should offer you tutorials, so that it won’t be too challenging to get started. If you happen to run into a problem, you should be able to contact the network marketing company. Their support team should be friendly and helpful.
Another thing to consider when choosing the right company is the type of products you will be promoting. The network marketing company may be top notch, but if you don’t sell a good product, you won’t make any money. Find a network marketing company that offers products that you know consumers want and need such as food and beauty items. If you are unable to find those types of companies, ask other network marketers who may know where to locate those companies. Sign up for free membership at a work from home forum. Members on the board who are network marketers may be able to give you information on how to locate the best company and product.

In order to start the process, you will need to select a domain name. A domain name identifies one or more Internet Protocol (IP) addresses. The domain name will have a suffix attached to it such as .gov, .net, or .com. It is a good idea to find a domain name with a .com or .net. More Internet users search with those suffixes.

How To Succeed With A Network Marketing Business

A person can succeed with a network marketing business as long as they have many team members. With a lot of team members, a person’s business not only will grow, but their income will as well. In order to recruit many team members, a person will need to network by recruiting friends and family members who are interested in getting into the business. When you recruit friends and family members, they’re more than likely to recruit other sellers. The more sellers you have, the more money your business will bring in.
Decide what type of product you want to sell. The product should be something that you know will bring in a lot of money. There’s no need to stock your house up with the product. The product needs to be accessible to all of your team members, meaning a product that can be moved easily. Once you decide on a product, sell a sample of it to all of your sellers. Don’t charge too much money for the sample. Your sellers should be able to afford the product. If it’s too expensive then the sellers won’t be able to help you to grow your business. They’ll eventually drop out of your team.
Once your business starts making money, you’ll need to figure out how you want to pay your sellers. With network marketing, owners pay their sellers by commission or residual income. Make sure that the payment that you give your sellers is fair. You won’t be this successful without all of your team members. You’ll need to decide how you want to pay each team member, such as by check or PayPal. The easiest and safest way is through PayPal. You can instantly pay your team members when they make a sale.
The last thing you’ll need to do to make sure that your network marketing business is a success is to have meetings on a regular basis, so that all of your team members can let you know how they’re doing. If there is something going wrong, then everyone on the team can work together to solve it.

MLM Opportunities – Can You Still Look Forward to Long Term Residual Income?

There seems to be a belief or theory out there that MLM opportunities are basically dead, so far as achieving a long-term or lifetime residual income is concerned.
Some are saying that faith in achieving the desired dream of lifetime residual income with any of the traditional MLM opportunities is “old school”  thinking that will ultimately lead to frustration and failure.
Here are the basic thoughts and theories that I see being tossed about.
  • the concept of residual income in MLM is dead or at the very least dying
  • people are moving from opportunity to opportunity more often than ever before
  • the cost of sponsoring someone who has a chance of succeeding has gone through the roof
  • the pursuit of “hotter, bigger, and better” MLM opportunities is a growing trend that won’t stop
  • downlines will have to be continually rebuilt, adding new distributors to replace those who go elsewhere
The reason for this change in the nature of MLM is said to be the Internet. We live in an age where the dynamics have changed. These days, when someone signs up and doesn’t experience success pretty quickly, they can easily go online and find something they think is better and jump ship.
In part, this belief is true because the Internet has made information readily available to anyone at anytime. Years ago, before the Internet, MLM opportunities were built mostly around local groups within small geographical areas. You went to meetings in your own town to learn about a business, and after you signed up you worked with a local support group that often included other people you knew personally.
In those days, there was a culture you became part of. It was harder to just up and leave, and information about other MLM opportunities was not usually readily at hand. You didn’t see fresh new possibilities in your email box each morning. You weren’t tempted to do a lot of research into other options, because research just wasn’t that easy to do.
So, how do we deal with this? I think MLM is still very viable, and these issues can be addressed. Some thoughts:
  • stay in touch with your downline and build relationships – get to know them
  • help them learn the basics of making money with your business quickly
  • help them get into profit and start making money right away
The last point is a big one – making money right away is huge. Yes, you do have to be patient to build a large MLM business that provides thousands a month in residual income, but you need encouragement along the way. Good MLM opportunities provide the vehicle, the rest is up to you.
What happens when someone signs up and works hard for six months, and has at most a check for $50 to show for it? That’s pretty discouraging, and only the most dedicated and focused will work through that. Figure out the fastest way to make decent money with your business, and help your new people do it.
MLM opportunities that provide residual income are far from dead – but today, more than ever, the relationships and “seeing the money” quickly are huge.

Network Marketing Training – What’s Up?

learning and leadership in network marketingYou’re evaluating a potential network marketing opportunity, and you’ve checked out the products and the compensation plan. They look great. You’ve also found that the company itself is stable and has a respectable reputation in the industry. You have talked to your future sponsor and upline, and everything looks good.
So what’s next? Before you dive in and sign up, take a look at the training you’ll be receiving. This is important, even if you’ve been in MLM or network marketing before. The top achievers and leaders in network marketing never stop learning and growing. If you ever think you’ve “arrived”, watch out….
Corporate Support and Upline Training
Check this out before you sign up. What will you be getting? Good training is essential to your success. The training and education you receive should be more than just facts about the products and how to sell them. There should be more than just recruiting and sponsoring techniques.
A good, well-rounded training program should also include components that focus on developing leadership. Your success in building a network marketing business depends highly on developing yourself as a leader. People like to work with leaders. Find out if your upcoming training will put focus on developing yourself as a leader – it should.
Leadership in network marketing is learning how to work with people, inspire them to achieve their dreams, and keep them moving in the right direction.
Preparing to Train Your Own Downline
Once you have completed your initial training, you will be sponsoring others into your business. At this point, you’ll begin (as a leader) to assist in training your new downline team.
What materials has the company developed to assist in the training process? Does your upline team have an organized system in place to help new associates get started, or is everything pretty much off the wall and disorganized? Consider this, because a good system for getting new associates up and running needs to be organized and clearly defined. The idea is not to create an army of MLM zombies marching in lockstep. The idea is to teach the fundamentals, and show people how to use them to build their own successful business.
Also, consider how and where you’ll be working your business. If you’re planning to build your network marketing business mostly online, look for Internet-based training and learning resources. Some companies and upline groups have entire web sites devoted to teaching the basics of success in the business.
If you plan to sponsor people in your local area who are not online, you’ll need to be prepared to help them in person or rely on local training that is already established.
You’ve Signed Up, What’s Next?
Once you’ve chosen a great network marketing opportunity and signed up, work hard and have fun! The evaluating and signing up is the easy part. Getting started and building an income takes time. Work hard in the beginning, because once things start rolling your business gets really exciting!

Network Marketing Should Be Fun!

candles lit, spelling success in network marketingSometime, choosing a network marketing business opportunity comes down to analyzing compensation plans and picking one that seems the most lucrative.
Other times, the products are evaluated (this should be your first step) and a decision is made based on their quality and market appeal.
Now, all that aside, there is something else to think about. I almost didn’t do this post today, because this seems so obvious, yet I’ll explain later why I posted it anyway.
Before you choose your network marketing business opportunity, relax and think about what you’ll be doing. Think about the products, how you’ll promote them, and who you’ll be working with. You should have talked to your potential sponsor several times. You should ask about talking to your sponsor’s upline as well, just to get a feel for the overall support you’ll have.
Once everything is in place – you’ve evaluated the products, the pay plan, the company, and your upline – what’s next?
Kick back and think – Will I enjoy this? Will I have fun doing this? If you feel any doubt, think about why and try to see what is bothering you.
This is why I am bringing this up and posting about it. I know a guy who did all the due diligence and signed up with a well-known network marketing business. The products were health & nutritional based. The company had a strong history and bright future. This guy had great upline support, everything seemed to be right. However, he left the business after three months.
The problem – while everything was in place business-wise, this guy just didn’t (deep down) care much about nutritional products. He was more the type who was passively interested in having good health, and had no real passion for spreading the word. This is not a guy who would enjoy browsing in a GNC or Vitamin World store – just not his cup of tea.
So, bottom line, be sure you can really feel a passion and excitement about any network marketing business opportunity you choose. Be sure you will enjoy it. That is a hidden key to your success.

How to Choose Your Sponsor in Network Marketing – Three Things to Look For

illustration of support in network marketingIf you are considering a network marketing opportunity, you may be close to making a decision and signing up. Before you do, it’s important to take a close look at your potential sponsor and upline. You should check them out just as carefully as you evaluated the company and products.
The relationship you have with your upline is important to your success. These will be the people who will help you learn how to succeed and make money. They will be the ones you turn to when a prospect throws out a difficult question. They will be your leaders, and a source of inspiration for you.
Your Sponsor’s Experience
How long has your potential sponsor has been involved with the business you are considering? How many other network marketing businesses have they been involved in, and for how long? Be concerned if they have worked a lot of different businesses in a fairly short time. Unfortunately, there are a few “MLM Junkies” out there who move from one business opportunity to another depending on what is “hot” at the moment. You don’t want to sign up with someone like this. They will likely leave for some other opportunity and possibly try to persuade you to follow them. Bad news.
Your Sponsor’s Personality
I’m not saying your potential network marketing sponsor has to be the life of the party. What you are looking for is entirely different. Do you feel comfortable talking to this person? Do they take time to answer your questions and explain the business in a professional way? Can you see this person becoming a friend and business associate? Be careful here, because if you have chosen a good business opportunity you may be working with this person regularly for a long time to come.
Your Sponsor’s Upline
I encourage you to get the names of 2 or 3 of your sponsor’s upline leaders, and give them a call. Ask the tough questions about the opportunity. Find out how successful they are. Are they full-time with the business, or working in that direction? Are they dedicated to making the most of the opportunity, or just treating it as a hobby? Ideally, you want to see some upline leaders who are working the business full-time and enjoying success. These are people you can turn to for encouragement, because they have been through a lot of challenges similar to what you will face.
Final Thought
I know it might be seem hard, even embarassing, to pose these questions to your potential upline. Just remember that you are seeking to build a serious business, and you want to work with people you like who have the ability and desire to support your efforts. That is the bottom line.

Legitimate MLM Opportunity or Pyramid Scheme? How to Tell the Difference

pyramid scheme not real MLMGetting involved with a network marketing and MLM business is an attractive option for many people. You have ready-to-go products, help getting started, and ongoing support and training from an upline dedicated to helping you succeed.
In addition to the ease of getting started, you have tremendous opportunity in MLM to make a substantial part-time income, and much more if you choose. Unfortunately, because of these advantages, a lot of illegal money-making schemes spring up daily and call themselves “MLM” or “network marketing” in an effort to appear legitimate.
What is a Pyramid Scheme?
These schemes typically work under names like “investment club” or “gifting program”. People participate by paying a fee to join or by giving a “gift” or “donation” to people further up the chain who joined previously. In return, the expectation is that they will get paid in the same manner by new participants who join later in the scheme.
In some pyramid schemes there may be a “product” of some sort involved (in an effort to look legitimate), but the clear focus is on recruiting and getting a big payout or benefit later in the plan.
Pyramid schemes come in different varieties, and many are made to look just like real MLM business opportunities. To help tell the difference between what is a scam and what is legitimate, watch for certain red flags.
Red Flags that Mark a Pyramid Scheme
- Do you have to pay a lot of money up front to get started in the business? Legitimate MLM opportunities do not require a lot of money up front.
- If there is a product, is there any emphasis on selling or using that product? True MLM businesses put focus on their products because they are the foundation of the opportunity.
- Is the focus strictly on recruiting and how much you can make by signing people up?
- If there is a product, and your up-front payment is for purchase of an inventory of that product, will the company allow you to return that product for at least a partial refund? Legitimate MLM and network marketing opportunities will do this.
Where is the Emphasis?
A good network marketing or MLM opportunity will have a balanced approach to building a real business. In a pyramid scheme, there will be a strong emphasis on recruiting and you will make your money just by signing up people. In MLM, money is made when products are sold and consumed by distributors and retail customers who are not involved in the business.
Bottom line – be wary if you see any of these signs: a large investment up front, emphasis on getting paid just for recruiting, promise of a big payoff later, no real product, or simply a cash payment required to join with payments to you for recruiting others to do the same.

Ground Floor Opportunities – Are They Really Worth the Risk?

ground floor opportunity - taking a riskIf you’re looking at network marketing and MLM opportunities, you’ll find that many of them are touted as “ground floor”. Generally, this means they haven’t been in business very long, and are promoted as the best opportunity because they are fresh and new.
Ground Floor Opportunities Can Be Exciting
Signing up with a new network marketing company can be very appealing for a number of reasons. There will be a new product line that no-one has seen before. There will be benefits that no other products have (at least this is what the promotions will say). There will likely be a highly touted compensation plan that may have a few new twists and bonuses built in.
“Get in now, this hot new product will take the market by storm. Don’t delay, do it today!”
Here is the bottom line. Going with a new startup opportunity is a gamble. If you have time and money available to promote it, and understand the odds of a startup making it long-term, the possibilities can be exciting. After all, the most successful network marketing opportunities today were at one time startups.
Thus, it might seem that going with a ground floor opportunity is the best bet. But wait, think about it a minute. Listen to the hype. If they say you have to get in now…if the opportunity is only good in the beginning stages…what will it be like one year, two years, and ten years down the line?
What Happens After the “Ground Floor”?
A solid, legitimate network marketing business will still be a great opportunity long after the “ground floor” stage has passed. The newness or freshness of an opportunity is not what gives it longevity and stability. The key is having great products, fair prices, and smart management that knows how to lead a successful business into the future.
My recommendation is to focus on established opportunities that have stood the test of time (at least two years of successful business, preferably longer).
